Kimberly Shappee
Kim helps people simplify and clarify their financial lives so they can spend their time focusing on what matters most to them. She brings a unique perspective shaped by her entrepreneurial background and commitment to advancing women in business. Kim believes everyday people deserve rational, understandable advice and help when it comes to planning their financial future. She has spent the past two decades helping people get clear on what matters most to them in our noisy world, and then helping them execute on the strategy to support those goals.
Before wealth management, Kim spent years in banking as Senior Credit Officer and Senior Vice President at Bank of Montana, a private business bank she helped start in Missoula. The bank opened during the Great Recession, a challenging time to start a bank. Her experiences in banking during that period led her to start a free class for women focused on personal financial management. She taught the class across the state, receiving recognition and support from the Federal Reserve Bank of Montana and the Governor at the time—and realized that she loved helping people feel confident around their finances. This is why she eventually took a left turn from banking and moved into the world of wealth management. She also saw that the confidence gap was real for women around money, and that it was most likely contributing to the pay gap.
Kim organized a group of women and started The Athena Pack—a two-day women's leadership conference in the Rocky Mountain West focused on giving women real, actionable skills to close the confidence and pay gaps. She has been recognized by Forbes as a Top Women in Wealth Advisor (2023, 2024, 2025), the Missoulian's "20 under 40," and Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer's "5 business professionals under 40 shaping Montana." She has also had the opportunity to teach entrepreneurship in South Africa, research informal economics in Latin America, and work in investment banking and economic development.
Kim is a graduate of Babson College's Entrepreneurship and Women's Leadership Programs and served as President of the University of Washington's 2012 Pacific Coast Banking School Class. She has also taught advanced leadership coursework at UW's Graduate School of Banking.
